To continue to provide support to our patients & our community:
After two months of our office being closed to comply with the provincial health authorities’ guidelines, we are happy to announce that we are starting the process of reopening our clinic as of May 26, 2020. This will be a gradual opening process. For the first few weeks we are limiting the appointments to emergency patient exams only. We realize these past two months have been very difficult for everyone unable to have access to their regular dental care, but especially so for patients experiencing discomfort, and that is why these patients will be our priority at the start. If you are a patient whose appointment was cancelled during the time the office was closed, we will call you as soon as we can to reschedule your appointment. If you are a patient whose appointment was pre-scheduled and is coming up, we will also call you to discuss the status of your appointment and reschedule as needed.
We have an incredible responsibility to our community and staff to ensure our clinic is a safe environment. We have been monitoring and following very closely the provincial, and federal health guidelines, recommendations from the College of Dental Surgeons of BC (CDSBC), BC Centre for Disease Control as well as WorkSafe BC, and spent the past few weeks changing and updating our office and our protocols in order to comply with the new guidelines. These are some of the changes we have made that you will notice at your next visit:
- We have installed plexiglass shield on the front desk
- We are limiting the number of patients in the waiting room to 1
- We have rearranged our sitting area in the waiting room to allow for social distancing, however at this time we ask that no one is using this space for waiting purposes, when possible
- We will not be offering coffee/tea at this time and all the magazines have been removed from the waiting room
- We have made changes to our scheduling system and are only booking 1 patient at a time
- We have limited our staff attending daily, to ensure social distancing is maintained between our staff members as well
- When you book your appointment on the phone or when called to confirm, you will be asked a series of standard pre-screening questions
- Please arrive for your appointment on time, and ideally by yourself. If you must bring someone with you, ensure that number is limited to one and ideally, they would be waiting for you in the car
- When you arrive for your appointment, please remain in your car and do the check in through the phone. Keep your cell phone handy and our staff will notify you when we are ready for you to come in
- Please leave any unnecessary items in your locked car, such as big backpacks, extra layers of coating you don’t need and so on, and we ask that at this time you refrain from using our bathroom. However, if you absolutely need to use it, know that it is there for your needs
- Upon entrance you will be asked to use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, your temperature will be taken using a forehead touchless thermometer, and you will be taken straight into the treatment room
- You will be asked to complete some forms and do a 60 sec 1% Hydrogen Peroxide rinse which is aimed to reduce intra-oral viral load
- We will be using appropriate PPE depending on the procedure being done, at all times following the guidelines from our province
- We continue to use the highest standards of sterilization for all instruments
- We have enhanced our cleaning and disinfection protocol to allow for more frequent disinfection of other areas and surfaces beyond the usual disinfection of treatment rooms, such as those of door handles, light switches, all surface counters throughout the office,
- Our staff is screened daily at the beginning of their shift (similar to patient screening) to ensure anyone that enters our clinic is symptom free for everyone’s safety
We will keep you informed on any changes to our office procedures, as they come.
We thank all our patients for your continuous support, your kind understanding and patience as we navigate together through this reopening phase
Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns regarding your next visit and one of our staff will be pleased to answer your questions. Our office will be open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
