(TMJ) Jaw and Headache Pain

Do you suffer regularly with headaches or migraines, with neck, jaw or shoulder tension? We may be able to help you eliminate these symptoms that are causing you discomfort and pain.

Usually these complaints are reported by people whose jaw joint is misaligned. Other affects can include waking up with a stiff or tight jaw, tenderness of the face, clicking and popping of the jaw joints and pain behind the eyes.

The jaw joint, also known as the temporo-mandibular joint or TMJ, connects our lower jaw and skull. It allows you to open and close your mouth, and to chew.

TMJ disorders are most commonly caused by having an incorrect bite. We can help by examining your bite, your jaw joint and the surrounding areas. If there is a problem, we can advise you about your treatment options. These can include a special mouth guard to wear at night to prevent jaw clenching or tooth grinding, or making adjustments to the way your teeth meet and work together. These treatments are often surprisingly affordable, and can make a big difference to your well-being.
